1. ITBP Constable (GD) Sports Quota Recruitment 2026

ITBP issued a brief notification of 126 Constable (General Duty) Sports Quota posts (Group 'C'-Non-gazetted Non-ministerial) in its recruitment. The detailed notification containing eligibility, selection process and other details is to be published on the official website. The registration period is said to be from 3 October to 1 November 2026.

Sports quota posts are meant for athletes who have represented their state or country at recognised events. So, here the important papers are your sports certificates, not only your academic certificates. The minimum educational qualification required is given 10th pass from any recognized board. Please read carefully the PDF for the different sports disciplines, achievement levels and age limits before paying any fee.

2. ITBP Head Constable (Motor Mechanic) Recruitment 2026

This notification provides job opportunities in the head constable (motor mechanic) job for 21 vacancies, which are available for male citizens of India including subjects of Nepal or Bhutan. The application period is from 28 September until 27 October 2026.

This is a technical role, which will require a trade related qualification and a trade test. The job of the post is said to be in the level-4 pay band with CAPF Group-C. So it is a good choice for those who have ITI and diploma in the automobile sector.

3. ITBP Head Constable (Education & Stress Counselor) Recruitment 2026

A less common access. The total number of vacancies are 16, which include 16 (Male and Female) Head Constable (Education & Stress Counselor) positions. Suitable for psychology or education graduates wanting to do a uniformed service. The window remains the same as that above, closing 27 October 2026.

4. ITBP Medical Officer Recruitment 2026 (Closed)

Applicants had applied for the Group 'A' posts of 282 Medical Officer, Specialist Medical Officer and Super Specialist Medical Officer in August/September 2026. Eligibility Criteria: What to Check

Specific conditions vary for each position, so check each PDF. Overall, ITBP will consider:

• Nationality: Indian citizens, some of which also include subjects of Nepal or Bhutan.

• Education: 10th pass for Constable (GD), trade or technical qualification in relevant field for Motor Mechanic and degree in relevant field for Counselor.

• Age limit: As mentioned in the notification, relaxations as per the Government Rule to SC/ST, OBC, ex-servicemen etc. are applicable.

• Physical Standards: Height, chest and weight standards are applicable to most uniformed posts with relaxation for some categories and areas.

• Medical fitness: An extensive medical examination is required of candidates.

You'll find a lot of errors on third party websites regarding fees and age requirements, so please don't trust them. The official notification will be the final decision.

Selection Process

ITBP recruitment for Group 'C' posts typically follows several stages:

1. Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET): This test involves measurements and endurance in a timed race and other events.

2. Trade/skill test: This is for technical occupations such as Motor Mechanic. The trials are based on sporting achievement in the case of sports quota posts.

3. Written examination: This is an objective-type test (where appropriate).

4. Certificate verification: Your certificates and category proofs are verified.

5. Detailed medical examination (DME): This is the last fitness exam, with candidates also having the option of doing a medical review.

Final merit list depends on the weightage prescribed in the respective notification.

How to Apply Online

1. Visit recruitment.itbpolice.nic.in.

2. Sign up using a legitimate cell phone number and e-mail handle.

3. Select the post that they are interested in and complete the form with relevant educational and personal information.

4. Make sure to upload your photograph, signature and necessary certificates as instructed.

5. If applicable, pay online the application fee. Depending on the category of students, there may be some fees which generally do not apply to women, SC/ST and Ex-Servicemen applicants (check notification).

6. Submit the form and download a copy for future reference.

Hint: Do not put it off until the final day. Portals get slower closer to the end of the game and if a portal is missed it cannot be rectified.

Preparation Tips for ITBP Aspirants

• Start with fitness. A significant percentage of candidates are rejected due to physical tests. Develop running speed and endurance, work on long jump and shot put, and commit to training at least two or three months.

• Make changes to the fundamentals of the written test. Emphasis on general knowledge, reasoning, basic mathematical skills, basic skills in English or Hindi.

• Keep documents ready. Before you fill in the form, the certificates of caste, sports, trade and ID proof should be scanned and verified.

• Check the medical standards. Having eyesight issues, flat feet, etc., may make someone ineligible for the position, so have a basic check-up early in the process.

• Follow only official updates. Around CAPF recruitment, fake job offers and “pay for selection” scams are prevalent. ITBP does not demand any amount of money other than the official fee.

Why Choose a Career in ITBP?

Apart from financial security and a respectable job, an ITBP job also provides facilities such as housing, medical care along with a developed career path. It's a tough job, particularly in remote areas, but there's a lot of professionalism and it's involved in disaster relief and mountaineering. An ITBP uniform is a matter of pride to many families.

Final Word

There are vacant posts in sports quota, technical Head Constables and Counselor positions in ITBP, so it's a great opportunity to apply for a job in this organisation. Read the notification carefully, prepare your documents, start training now and submit well before the deadline.
