CMAT: CMAT stands for Common Management Admission Test. Conducted once a year by XLRI – Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur, XAT scores are accepted by 250+ colleges and institutions. The exam is conducted in CBT mode in 100+ cities across the country. XAT is known for evaluating students on a number of parameters, including verbal ability, quantitative aptitude, reading comprehension, decision-making, and logical reasoning. The exam is generally conducted in the first week of January every year. Following the same trend, the next XAT exam is scheduled to be held on January 3, 2027.
NMAT: Another national-level management entrance exam for admission to MBA and PGDM programmes in the country is NMAT (NMIMS Management Aptitude Test). Although the exam is conducted by an international agency, GMAC (Graduate Management Admission Council), its score is largely accepted by domestic institutions, with up to 160 institutions accepting it, as well as institutions in international countries such as the Philippines, South Africa, and Morocco. As the name suggests, the exam is conducted by Symbiosis International (Deemed University) (SIU). While the exam is primarily used for admission to affiliated institutions of Symbiosis International University, with a total of 17 institutions, there are also other institutions that accept SNAP scores for admission to their management programmes. The exam is conducted online four times a year, commonly in February, May, July, and August/September. ATMA scores are accepted by 750+ reputable institutions in the country.
